Currently I am running 6.9 Pilot skis on my XTX. The skis are great.
I like them allot, especially for the deep snow. They keep the heavy front end on top of
the snow nice.

Sounds like the new dual carbide skis work great. But does Yamaha have a wide version
for deep snow.

No they don't, the skis are only 6 inches wide...too bad.

I ran the 6.9 Pilots for 2 seasons, I switched them out for the Yamaha MTX ski for the last 2 seasons, much better ski IMO. I put a set of deuce runners on and they are great. I found the Pilots pushed in the corners, I am completely satisfied with the MTX's!

Where is the old mountain ski available from? Does yamaha dealers still sell them?

I went with the MTX ski along with Sno-Trackers and have been very happy with them on the trail. Very predictable and stable. I can't comment on the powder side last year, since we did not have any to speak of.

I run ski doos pilot ds skis and so far have been the best ski i have found out there, and they bolt right up with very little modification!
