So I made the jump from the trusty Ski Doo which I am all to familiar with and I need a quick education on must have items ?

Dump the tuner skis quickly. I prefer Curves with Slim Jims.....the Slim Jims rob a lot of top end speed, but I sure love the carving ability.

I use the standard yamaha belt, I went with the Thunder Products adjuster, and the Barn of Parts belly protector. Travis at BoP can line you up with the belly pan, ice scratchers, an adjuster, and the Jap/Apex throttle lever with heat booster......all must haves in my book.

I went with PowerMadd sentinels with the LEDs wired separately form the ignition....but not critical.

I went with the Viper/Sidewinder expandable tunnel bag. More than enough room for extra gear and a 1 gallon roto-pak.

A handle bar bag is nice, as is the goggle holder insert.

BOP belt adjuster, STM tunnel protectors, Dalton clutch products, Torx screwdrivers

Personally I feel the only essential add ons are ice scratchers, belly pan protector, and good secondary rollers. Next is skis if you want to ride in snow but if you are a groomed trail burner then put snow trackers on the tuners. Next I think if I interpret the voluminous clutching info correctly, almost every sled would benefit from slimply throwing in the Dalton Black Orange secondary spring at 70°.

Get the BOP belt adjuster and their belt guard for the bottom of the pan underneath the clutch. One stop shopping. After that the sky is the limit.

clutching has way to many variables to mention as a must have part for this post. Certainly the spring you mention is worthy for some but a must have >no way. And that spring will not work for every sidewinder.
Different skis,a rear bag, and roll over bypass mod

I only said 3 things were essential. Clutch spring was not one of them. No problems with my roll over valve so I wouldn’t call that essential either.

No problem was NOT disagreeing with anything you said. Just pointing out the spring you mentioned is not going to work with all. Some it will. I have posted about this spring. And I even mentioned it's worthy. It was not good for my set up with a steeper helix. And I even posted about another spring that I felt was off in my set up. And I have run thunder stuff for years. Way before Yamaha came with a NEW roller secondary. Dalton makes quality products, no doubt about that. So does thunder products. i just think clutch springs are so dependent on a lot of variables. No pune intended Jack.

It’s all good I didn’t know it was a BTX at the time anyway. it seems that if you have a LTX clutching on the cheap for the Winder could be just adding the Dalton BO spring along with changing the rollers. Going largely on the temp testing from OCD Steve as well as trying to keep up with all the other threads on clutching.

Probably should add Nordlocks to the turbo bolts as an essential item. Maybe DuPont sliders. Installing my 3rd set of slides today (1st set of DuPont).

I'm surprised how many run ice scratchers. I've never ran them in all my years of sledding, and have never had slider or overheating trouble.
The only mods I've done, and would recommend doing, to my 18 Winder XTX 141, are a 265hp tune, quiet trail muffler, Dalton clutch weights and 2 pair of aggressive carbides. However, I should get an additional belt guard, my bellypan wasn't happy about the belt coming through it!
I guess I really only care about going fast.......:)
Note: Before mods all I could get out of it was 117mph, after mods 126mph.
