Ok 2012 vector ltx
I have set the front spring to the one turn from zero pressure.
Snow trackers .
Transfer rod to min or close
Limter strap tighten up one hole now on hole number three
If I drive on a trail or road with very little snow at speed can turn on a dime
but going slow ( with about three inches of snow on trail)on tight corners just pushes off the corners,
if i let off going ito to the corner no power turns great but when i hit the gas it turns like #*$&@..just pushes
So my question how can i make it handle better when there is snow on the trails..
tks
should i tight the front spring back up some or maybe one more hole in the strap
or losen the center spring a little

Sounds like you need a set of aggressive skis, C&A Razors, USI Triple Threats, SLP Powder Pros, Slydog Powderhounds, or even Yamaha Mountain skis. All will give you better handling in deeper snow. Keep in mind, the more aggressive the ski, the more difficult they are too turn.

first check your carbides on each ski
theres way to much discussion on this topic here. theres been about 10 threads in the last month, try adjusting the middle shock in the skid first, thats what takes the weight off the front end. sounds like you need a little more weight on the front end and less off the track

the spring surrounding the center shock, when you move those 2 locking nuts/rings below the spring you shift the weight around from motor to track. think of that spring as the tipping point if you were balancing the sled, adjusting it moves that tip point. id say try it with less spring, handtighten it and go for a little ride not fast, see how it handles, adjust-ride-adjust-ride. itll take you an hour to do it and youll get a better idea then reading 100 posts here. Dont worry about the limiter straps or front shocks right now. Im pretty sure the transfer rod also applies a bit here especially at take-off, i dont know how much it has to do with actually shifting the weight while not moving (use the search on here for that)
everyones weight, and what the idea of a "comfortable" ride is completely different. Try at one end of the spectrum, and the at the complete opposite and then decide what you want. and remember what you gain in one area you will lose in another, you will be able to turn on a dime but its gonna take more effort.
watch this
the skid in this video is pretty close to the older yam skids, the first 10 seconds you can see how that front shock drops it puts more weight on the skis

- Bought a new 05 Vector which I still have
24K miles
1635 - he doesn't have a skid with a middle track shock. He has the Monoshock which doesn't have one.
Way too much discussion int he last month? WTF are you talking about? The folks asking what to do about their Ventures? THOSE sled have rear skids with two shocks.
You been hitting the Joker Juice a little heavy lately?
Chuck - IMO this is one is the shortcomings of the Mono skid. The adjustment to add a "significant" amount of ski pressure is "radical".....not the best word but what came to my head right away. You have to pull the limiter strap one hole tighter. You have EPS on that sled so while in theory the sled will turn even harder the EPS should help over come that.
IF you think that pulling up the limiter one more was too much, then tighten your front ski shock springs about an inch. This will give you more ski pressure, but it's a very subtle adjustment.
I have never run Snowtrackers so what effect they are having I can't help you there. Metallicat....you out there? You have an 08 LTX with the STrackers.
EDIT - I have a 14LTX with "Tuner I" skis and I am very happy that I have little to no push unless I overdrive the corner. BUT...the Tuners are coming off because there's other things about them that I don't like. You have the single keel Yamaha skis and that's what I'm putting on with Woody's Doolies.
EDIT #2 - when you give it gas coming out of a corner the sled still transfering weight. Try adjusting your transfer rod for even less transfer. Go to the minimum or try a little under minimum.
EDIT #3 - one size thicker sway bar will help as well. Think of the mass in the front end wanting to shift opposite the way you want to go. Inertia is working against you. I put one size thicker bars on both my Yam 4s' and are super pleased with the cornering improvement.

With my 07 Attak I run aggressive Snowtrackers .
Limiter in the stock position, transfer set near min and front springs set loose with a 12mm sway bar. Big boy spring set on the second clip with a revalve.
Sled handles well on the groomed trails and hard pack ditches. With a couples of inches of loose snow it will push until the Trackers find the base.
Adjusting the throttle can overcome some of the push but it loose snow. What can you expect??

Chuck - 1635 thinks you have a different skid so you can't try what he suggests. I THINK Steiner is saying that "you can't have it all and you have to find a happy medium". I don't want to put words in his mouth but if that's what he meant I do agree with him.
But yes, if it were me, I'd pull the limiter strap one hole tighter and try it.
Serious as a heart attack, a heavier sway bar is a nice change to these sleds. MANY have done it before me!

I have my limiter strap tightened up one hole, front springs no preload, and transfer rod set to minimum. Mine still pushes in soft snow, anything loose snow at all it pushes. Tried snow trackers and bergstrom carbides too. It likes to go straight!

Same here I think I am going to go one more hole up on thr strap..

I always thought of my sled as having a "jeckyl and hyde" ski syndrome, where it can push like mad in soft snow conditions yet be very hard to turn when the trails are hard.
