Number of 2008 Nytro's For Sale?

?

I think a lot of guys are hoping that the 09's are more equiped in the front end then the 08's. One magazine said that the 08's were set up more for track/snow cross then everyday use; and they felt that was dialed down on the 09's. Between a lot of the darting being fixed, and the sled being a bit more civilized; I think it is more attractive to other people. To me whay take a huge loss on the sled, and see what I can do to fix the darting. The only other reasons I can see someone getting rid of this style of sled, is they didn't believe the few true things about it and this type; that people told them before they bought it. Guys who came from sleds like Vectors, and apex styles. It likes to get ridden aggressivly, it is colder then the others, it is not a long 150-180 mile a day trail sled for most (not my opinion ;)! ), You may want to stand more then sitting, and storage, what storgae. This is a different breed, and I believe some people didn't believe that when they originally bought it. All of this is my opinion and guess of course :tg:

Nytros for sale

I agree totally...I would love to have my 06 apex back! I ride long distances on trips up north, 200 miles give or take. The Nytro is too aggressive, I hate standing up but can't sit on it at higher speeds, too much body english required in corners. I guess I am a somewhat laid back and it is the wrong sled for me...but I can't take a huge hit on it, hell I just bought it in february. Anyone want to trade?[/i]

Nytros for sale

I just bought this thing in February, 607 miles ago. I am not looking to buy, but trade. Just something fair. Thanks anyway. Plus it goes in to the shop tomorrow for a new subframe upgrade...Yamaha has the new "reinforced" subframes available in wisconsin. Your dealer has to get "approval" for the update from his rep first...kind of fishy!

Time and time again, I see magazines and riders report the Nytro is too stiff. :o| It is derived from a snow cross sled, Yamaha even gives you a diagram for their suspension and the Nytro falls in the extreme category. Now, why people overlook this and expect it to be a plush ride is beyond me. I know people love the look of the Nytro but you have to look beyond that. I am not going to buy a Venture and expect it to bang through the moguls.

If the Nytro is ridden hard it will do it's job effectively. If you cruise the trail it will be rough. That is why I feel you have seen so many for sale. Not trying to offend anyone here, just my 2 cents.

I hear ya mdkuni. Obviously it is a rough trail sled, but you know each OEM has their opinion of what a rough trail sled should be. If you look at the XP-X, that too is supposed to be a rough trail sled but it is no where near as stiff as the Nytro. Also, the suspension is NOT set up good from Yami. The sled is super stiff over 1 ft. bumps, but bottom's out on some big hits. I just had my shocks revalved by Pioneer, so I am expecting it to be a lot more progressive this year.

It is not for everybody, but the 08 can be made to rip.

Made to RIP!! That is what I was hoping. By buying my sled slighlty cheaper, and adding some changes, hope she lives up to what I am expecting. A lot of guys told me to go with the 09; but by the time you add a few changes you are around the same price as mine, and not as fast. I am expecting a quick corner to corner stand up rider forward sled, and I think that is what I got. I am not expecting a cushy ride like an attack. How people can expect a corvette to run like a cadillac, I don't know

the nytro is the most comfortable sled i have ever owned ,and i have had every style yamaha since 1999,we ride any where from 150- 250 miles per day,i have a standard 08 with fox floats,it did every thing i asked it to last year, stand sit did not matter,my knees would be crying after 100 miles on my warrior, but i am also not the tallest person on a sled only 5' 6',maybe thats why it fits me so well, and the right set up is EVERTHING!!!!!

My 08 nytro is my first brand new sled and Im yet to ride it and some of these convos are makin me a bit nervous but i do ride aggressive and love to bang ditches and ride rough trails hope it lives up to what it was built up to in my head
