I just got a Nuvi 550 and the Red Pine Mapping chip. I put the chip into the GPS like the instructions said to do and when I try to view the maps nothing shows up. Do you have to be in the state the maps are for Wi. and Mi.? Or what am I doing wrong???? Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe changing it to walking or biking mode will help.
Are you sure you have the Red Pine maps turned on?

If you go into the settings and map info, you'll see your original map and hopefully the red Pine map with check boxes next to each. Make sure it is checked off. If you don't want to see the Garmin built-in map, uncheck it but then you might not see roads and such. You can leave it to a vehicle but you should switch it to off-road mode.

Correct but not being in the veiwing area it will not show. If your trails are 200 miles away you wont see them. I shut the base map off and turn the trails maps on when sledding as it still shows the roads. I have both vvmapping and redpine.
