Well I got a chance to get a decent ride before loading it into the semi headed for Togowotee today. It's awesome! No turbo lag and instant seamless acceleration. It's not a sudden abrupt hit from the turbo. Almost feels more like a big bore engine it's that smooth. Ski lifting power and super quick responce to on and off throttle hits. The wastegate and BOV are working together nicely. The fuel controller is spot on just plug and go.
I can't be happier with the kit and the customer service. Travis is more excited than I am so far that it works so well. From the perspective of a guy who can wrench his way around a snowmobile with some trepidation the kit went on really easy and just plain works.
I will report more next week after some time in the deep.

Dang nabit Otis!
If I could find a ridin' buddy to go with, I'd scoot over to Togwotee and ride with you for a day. How long you gonna be there?

I arrive on Saturday and leave the following Sat morning. It's a yearly trip with a bunch of riding buddies from my local shop. One of the old Arctic cat racers from the late 70s Bryan Nelson heads up the group. About 20 of us go out and rip it up. Wide range of riders, but for the most part they are strong mtn riders. I am counting the days.

I am in togwotee with another 2 feet of snow testing the turbo and I think I got the clutching down. For me with the 47 degree apex helix the stock secondary spring set to 90 and stock weights with 10.3 heel and 13.3 mid and tip weight should allow you to pull about 8800 to 8900 rpms.
I had the 17.2s but ended grinding off 4 grams from the rivets for a total weight of 73.4gms for each arm which worked well for me.
Still love the boost.

It almost looks like a cast iron exhaust manifold from motor to turbo?

That's because it is.
ductile iron...and down pipe...only cast manifold in the industry!!!! custom made for this kit!!!
Travis had a little bit of over mold from the manifolds..and I tried to break it..it was barely thicker than cardstock paper...took everything I had to break it...pretty strong stuff...
then it is Ceramic coated also!!!

Is the heat from the turbo any problem?
Do you run the stock Nytro gasstank?

Howd the exhaust setup work out in the POW?
I wanna setup something similar on my turbo...just a short pipe from the downpipe, into a muffler...and not have to run it all the way out the back.
If anything, I am thinking I could run piping from the muffler and out the rear/side of the tunnel if it really is an issue. Like a tail pipe?
I don't really see it done, but is there an issue with that idea??
I think it makes sense tryin to keep the weight centralized (or, forward) if possible.. Because at some point we'll be picking up the rear end of the sled.

Sled looks great!

Exhaust setup was awesome. No matter how deep I burried the rear end there was no hint of bog. I believe that the closer to the front of the tunnel the exhaust outlet is the less chance of bogging. The exhausts that I've seen running closer to the rear were prone to bogging after getting burried.
Very quiet, but I have the quiet insert in the pipe. On boost eerie quiet until you hear me lift and the boost blows out the blow off valve. Nice surprise for a performance exhaust below stock noise levels.
Overall the sled was awesome. NW turbo tuned better with shockwave helix. Nothing much new this year. Just xxxmodrod vent kit, OFT front steering kit, skinz seat and goodies. Skinz just picked up the sled for some R&D time. We'll see what they come up with?

Skinz dudes mentioned that the hot ski setup was the slydog powderhounds, but redrilling the mounting hole 1 1/2" forward to lessen the steering effort and centralize the spindle on the ski. Planning to try this once I get the sled back.

very good news. that was sort of my thinking as well.
keep if further forward and snow can't pack up in there...as it should be evacuated by track speed (in most cases).
i measured it, there is 7" of clearance almost all the way through the tunnel (w/ a 2.4" track)...seems like plenty to toss a 3" round can into. assume maybe .5" lost due to a hanger of some sort. still a good 3.5" left...and its only along the side anyway.
are u running slydogs plastic rear wheels? i've read/heard of some of those folding up? has that issue been resolved? i'm still a bit feared of even teh composites i have on my sled.
when you think about the speed/torque/weight thats being applied to them.

Was this a powder thing or was it a mod for trail/boondocking too, I have powderhounds and they are a little far back as for as mounting location, any reinforcement needed on this.
ROTAX, I have the SlyDog wheels and have 2500 hard miles on mine with 0 issues, with boost this year (if my F7 sells) it will be under more abuse so I'll see what happens then but as of now they are still true circles and bearings held up good, just a few small nicks from rocks/foriegn objects.

Can I just drill my down pipe for an air/fuel port and just use my down pipe into my tunnel with nothing attached to it. Current setup is just a straight pipe into the stock exit location with the Air/fuel port near back of the exhaust.
