We may be buying a 2010 vector if we do I will definitely swap them to see if it works but not a 100% on the purchase yet. So if anyone knows how to fix the tach issue on the Apex gauge that would be awsome.
Mounted a gauge from a RS Venture 2010 tonight, plug and play besides the clock. All other thing is working just fine!

Just a heads up.... The Apex Gauge on the Nytro is not working.... It is killing the topend speed!... Not sure why if it is pulling timming or what? But we tested this and is true!!

Just a guess here, but the Apex is a 4 cylinder motor, while the Nytro is a 3-banger. Most tachs take their signal off the ignition system, typically measuring signals to the #1 cylinder. Therefore, I would guess that the Apex tach will read about 30% low on a Nytro. I'm not sure where the speed is measured--whether it's at the driveline, or just correlated to the tach reading, assuming a standard gear ratio.
Either way, these should both be something that an automotive gauge shop can fix pretty easily.

You are kind of right it is the other way the tack reads high. Not sure what is causeing the sled to fall off on the big end, i would think the gauge is all input? But some thing does not jive..... Has far as a auto shop fixing it easily no way.. been there done that............. They make a kit to make a GM 4cyl to a 8 cyl. Lots of tachs have pole settings on the back for this. But never for a 4 cyl to a 3 cyl.....

Btw, does someone know how i change from mph to km/h?
The tach part should work as normal, These tachs, at least the ones from rx1 and viper are single pulse tachs. They read one pulse for 1 revololution. I have used rx1 4cylinder tach on a viper and a venture, both with newer ignitions and both 2stroke tripples. With older ignitions, these would use 6pulse tachs. I can only assume but havent tried that a apex tach reads the same. It obviously doesnt and it cant be firing all the plugs all the time like an older ignition, 4 or 6 pulse but what if the tach is driven by the injector on offs instead of ignition. This would explain why they are reading different. maybe the newer tach from an apex is really a 4pulse tach, that information is accessable from the guage. it has alot of functions that control the computer as in on off time for injectors. If the nitro does the same thing in its guage, then quite posibly, the guage might hold the memory for this function and when the new guage is installed, it takes on its new memory. This would also mess with the computer in it as it would only see 3 injectors. This could be what is causing power loss with the guage.
Not sure if the nitro even has this feature but thought I would throw it out there for conversation.
Has anyone put compared the wire harnesses ?

Yes, the EFI models are wired differently then the carbed sleds.
The older carbed guages had serperate inputs for rpms, vehicle speed, etc.
The newer EFI sleds, the gauge is actually an electronic module. It communicates with the ECU through a single data wire (yellow if I remember correctly.)
Vehicle speed, handle bar warmers, trouble codes, rpms, etc all this information is sent to the guage module from the ECU via the data communcation line. Basically they talk to each other through data line.
The Nytro and EFI Vector ECUs speak the same language. This why you can swap an EFI Vector and Nytro guage, and everything will work correctly. Even the diagnostic functions work, although a B+ wire needs to be added for the clock to retain memory. When a Vector guage is used on a Nytro.
I believe the Apex data to the guage is slightly different. Because of the number of cylinders, and also because the sweep of an Apex guage is to 12,000 rpm. While the EFI Vector guage has a sweep to 10,000 rpms.
Of course the only way to know for sure, would be to have some sort of scan tool that could communicate on the data line!

Gotta find an answer in this q, im going nuts reading mph all day-especially the trip that reads in miles. When u are used to read in km is hard to adjust to miles

read the manual.

First i dindt think (reed: hope) it would work since its different gauge, but all in all, with a two month son on one hand it took just around six minutes-five to locate the manual and find correct chapter, one minute to change settings!

Thanks for pointing it out for me!
