NYTRO HEADGASKET

That must be it a . I think the eng. has to come out so i would say 4.0 hours maybe more

Should be able to do it without removing the engine..just remove the gas tank, plastics, light pod and upper frame..

You'll have to remove the engine bolts and tilt the engine forward to access the chain tensioner.... Probably a total of 10 hours for the complete job!

called my dealer and they said you have to take off some motor mounts and rotate the engine to get to it. They said it would be about a 7.5 hour job.

How hard is it to change the headgasket on a nytro. Also how long does it take.
thanks

How many miles are on the sled and where is it leaking?

the sled has 2800 miles on it and I couldnt tell u where it is leaking. By looking at it on the trail I couldnt see were it was leaking, but I was always down about a litre of prestone whenever the heat light would come on. And I just got this back from the dealer after puting a stud through the heat exchanger. And when the stud thing happened the motor got hot enough to lossen the bolts in the oil pan, so i'm thinking a stuck thermostat or the head gasket

Perfect storm maybe??? Keep us posted.

Let us know aht you find. You will need to get in there with a good flashlight after you remove the pod, plastics, and upper frame to identify if it is truly the head gasket. Hate to find that with only 2800 miles that the head gasket is leaking. :o|

Like mentioned earlier and in another post, check the sled thoroughly before determining that it's the head gasket.

My sled with 2k miles on it had 2 missing crank case bolts and the rest were loose. It had never been hot. So I wouldn't assume that that is a indicator.

If you remove the two bolts on T-stat housing the cover will come off and you pull the t-stat out. Run without it and see if the problem goes away.
