Nytro riders that came from Apex

I would have to pick the apex over the nytro for handling but i'm sure that the 09's will be a lot better. I have owned a rx1 and the nytro is a step up from that but its no apex. :rocks:

apex rtx to xtx

after the first 500 miles on my xtx and some adjusting to find what works for me and the sled I have to say the xtx is THE sled for me. I am used to the sled now and hopped on my girlfriends attack and was stunned at how different it feels to me now. my opinion,"once you get used to the fx nytro there is no turning back.

Yeap, what you said

I might be the only one on here dissatisfied with my nytro.....I had an RX and an Apex....the RX-1 was a horrible sled........
My Apex on the other hand was the best sled I ever owned and Im considering going back.....
I had the first year of the Apex, w the RX rear skid, however I put an Ohlins mono in it with an upgraded Ohlins spring....this sled could pound anything, I had a riser on it so I could stand through the rough stuff and sit and fly through the smooth long trails......
When we hit a staight a way my buddies would get out the way cause I could smoke em up top......plus it could hang easily through the bumps........I ride with all REVS 600 HOs and 800's.....
now I can't beat anybody in any trail condition......
I've never hit 100 on the speedo in the nytro, track spin or not......I've seen 120 on my Apex......
my nytro is gone at the end of this year......Im yamaha loyal, so I hope they come out with something better......
BTW.....my buddies '08 REV 800 destroys me after 50......I cannot deal with having to run with the 600's.........
just not me.......

Is corner to corner riding easier with nytro vs apex? Apex gets heavy feeling by late in day and becomes work to get it to rail well without putting a heavier bar in.

nytro on long trips

After several 200 mile trips from home to camp stopping only for gas or a bottle of water the nytro is a real pleasure to make that kind of run with. I had a 06 rtx and it was a great sled but after aquiring the taste with my XTX I consider it a good sled to chase miles with. wear the right gear and it is plenty warm.

Is there a tall windshield and air flow deflectors available for the Nitro like the Phazer GT has. If so, it would be plenty warm.

Also, how do you like the XTX in tight and twisty trails?

If it handles well there, it would be the perfect sled for me as it would be a good sled for the local twisty trails, the Northern Ontario trails and my trips out west every few years.

A few rides ago I did 310 miles in 10 hours of rideing on my rtx, great ride could have done more miles but got a late start. Felt great after the ride, no soreness or pains. I use to do 200 to 250 on my rx-1, sometimes a little sore.

Apex likes open space. Nyrto no good in icy conditions.

I started out with the XTX yesterday but all I could smell was the new slides I just put on burning off. The snow had a slight crust and wasn't lubricating good enough so I went home and got out the APEX GT LTX. It had worn in slides already. I was amazed at how much more confident I felt with the APEX going fast on the river with icy conditions. The XTX has Simmons ski's and 114 pic's and the APEX has the stock ski's and carbides with 168 pic's up the center of the track.

On hard pack no matter what the setup the Nytro doesn't feel nearly as confident as the APEX. In wash board studder bumps the XTX is far superior. Going around tight places, through and over ditches, across through junk under power, through deep powder the XTX is great. On big trails or lakes the XTX in fresh snow no matter how deep is a blast. If the trails are slushy the XTX works like a charm.

The Apex has a lower center of gravity and sits lower than a Nytro. Your sitting 1 foot closer to the ski's on the Nytro. When you slow down for a corner the Nytro seems to turn easier than the APEX. The Apex can be thrown into a turn a bit more but you loose speed exiting the turn. You never want to throw a Nytro into a turn. F1 driving style for Nytro, slowing down before corners then power on through the turn.

You can feel the extra weight of the Apex in turns and when braking, especially down hill... The suspension is more plush on the Apex. Standing up on the Apex seems hard compared to the XTX. The guage package on the Apex is far superior as well as the thumb and hand warmers. The Apex is far stronger than the Nytro. If you hit something the Nytro will bend before an Apex.

HAD A APEX RTX AND NOW HAVE A se. It all depends on the type of rider you are. If smooth trails are your thing saty with the APEX. If you are more of an aggressive rider go with the Nytro. I think my SE is the first sled that I am completely happy with from a performance perspective. It has boat loads of Torque and out of the box through the first 660 feet it will stay witha lmost any sled. I am not a top end guy, I am more of a turn to turn guy who likes a sled that can handle the junk. The Nytro is definately the sled for that. The Apex is not. Again, it all comes down to the type of rider you are. If you are concerned with tp speed go with an Apex.

gems4sale, how did you like your 800 pro x-2, still have my 04 800, pipe, clutch, reeds 800 miles or so. sled rips pretty good, i use it for our back-up machine..

ProX2

I loved the proX2. The increased height of the seat was good. I wished it was around 4" taller. WOT for extended periods = broken belt, this was my biggest issue. The 800 Liberty was a dog compared to the 600CC. Handling the trail junk the ProX2 did with ease. Flying off drop offs the ProX2 gave you all the confidence one could ask for. Too much maybe...LoL After getting on an Apex I wasn't so sure how much better it was until I jumped back on a ProX2. I instantly felt I was sitting on the ground compared to the Apex. I like the ProX2 was 10 years old instead of 2 years old. Driving an Apex through the trail trash without regard is not as advisable as with a ProX2. The rear suspension on the Apex is not as good for thrashing through trail junk. It wasn't too bad until you hit a kicker...LoL The Apex doesn't like to be jumped either. The proX2 loved it.
