I have a 08 Nytro and on my last trip my starter started to make a strange whining noise when I turn it over. Im running a EVO Ballistic battery and when it cold you need to crank the engine over until the battery wakes up enough to produce enough voltage to get it started. Could this "ritual" have burned up my starter? Thanks in advance.

I would get that checked right away. The starter relay on my 09 RTX failed and burned out my starter,but I did not notice any noises from the starter as the the engine was running as the starter burned out. There is a starter warning light available for about 15 bucks.
