Which is which? If it were a Diesel I would go for the Cummins, high rev motor the lighter rotating mass would be the one.

What are you trying to say?skidoochris said:take a look at these pistons/rods and wrist pins
complete tear down on dootalk

Extreme
well judging from the picture id have to say the rod angularity for the one on the right has to be pretty bad, cant imagine cyl walls and piston skirts holding up long under boost

Much lighter piston, Much lighter rod, Longer stroke= Quicker reving and more torque. A big plus in a turbo app helping to off set lag.

Comparing Yamaha/ Skidoo
Well the Rotax is a torque monster because even stock it out does the Yamaha.
Yamaha has also gone to using the new design motors in there YZF dirt bikes
Engineers had to start rewriting the books on this Formula engine designs and I can tell you first hand don't beat down that motor as it is fast with turbo on it.
82mm pistons compared to 91mm doesn't have the torque in stock or boosted from what we have seen.
14 psi boost Nytro 1052cc makes about 170 ft lbs torque
14 psi boost Rotax 1173cc makes about 210 ft lbs torque
Same turbo and same dyno setup by PowderLites
Heavy crank and with RB3 we spin it up to 9000 RPM.
6000 RPM it hauls the mail with over 200 HP and 200 ft lbs torque.
ECU has torque sensing detuning on Rotax.
Yamaha rods are very hard and light but will stand a lot of pushing boost even stock.
Rotax has very big intake and valves compared to Yamaha.
A little info for the Keyboard racers to fight with!!
Let the races begin!!
Oh and Rotax motor is heavy!!
