Is 4 to 6 inches from the end of the pipe to close to mount the o2 sensor? I have a powderlites tunnel dump pipe and the bung is close to the end. A/F is reading like 18 to 20 idling. o2 sensor came with used prologger. Or could it be a bad sensor?

18 to 20 at idle seems awfully lean. I would double check that against another sensor or check for upstream exhaust leaks .

What are the optimal A/F readings during idle/low mid and high/WOT, for a Nytro??

Thanks

The sled actually will not idle if it were truely idling in that 18 to 20 range (it will stall). You are likely drawing fresh air in past the O2 sensor at idle due to the low rpm and reverb. If you speed the motor up does the air/fuel ratio go down?

FX Nytro low 12.5-13.5 mid 12.5-13.0 top 11.5-12.0

I think that's what it's doing because as soon as i get on the throttle ratio comes back down. I'm going to try to find a pipe to restict it alittle so it's not exposed to so much fresh air.

the sled I have was having the same problem I think...short tunnel dump...

changing it around to full over system now..

If a person is running a J pipe with no muffler where should the O2 be located?

The exhaust gasses are pulsating in and out at idle drawing in air at the same time making the AFR read too lean. I have my sensor up in the bend of the pipe, my idle shows 14.5 when I let off throttle, ideling for a minute and it drops to 15-16, still throttle response off idle is great, tells me the idle is affected by the exhaust drawing air up the pipe fooling my sensor :-) At engagement rpms of 4500 my AFRs holds a steady 13.5 which is just perfect.
