I picked up a 16 LTX LE in the crate in in October after being out of sledding for 2 yrs. Last Sled was a 08 apex ltx gt so I hope I'm not disappointed.
Anyway, after ready on hear about the lean idle condition I was wondering if any one tried the resister mod on the o2 sensor to richen it up by tricking the ecm? My buddy did it on his 1300 Vstar to clean up the idle to 3500 rpm lean conditions.

I've kept track of anything idle and start in nature. Its mainly a 2015 ECU flash problem which we are all holding our breaths for an update. I'm sure the resistor trick will help the idle, but it will also make it rich on top. Best way to fix the problem is with a tuner or possible EVO flash which is still unproven. Viper is a great sled. But as all sleds do, she has a few imperfections that are pretty easily and cheaply (if you can contain yourself, I know I couldn't) fixable. Ask about anything you don't like and folks here will give you 10 ways to solve it.

I thought I read in here that the surging and back firing at low throttle is caused by a lean condition. I know mine pops pretty good if I try to hold it at 2700rpm and my buddy's 2011 vector doesn't do it.

Thanks! I've pretty much kept up on everything on here for the last month so I know what you mean. But does the EFI work like the bike where it only controls under 20% throttle for emissions, if so it won't effect top endI've kept track of anything idle and start in nature. I have a 2015 Viper and my sled runs, starts, and ideals perfectly so I don't believe in the "15" flash problem. If people are having problems it has to be something other than the ecu...just my .02

What if it's O2 sensor calibration issues, apparently a narrow band sensor keeps the AFR #'s at idle where it's calibratedI have a 2015 Viper and my sled runs, starts, and ideals perfectly so I don't believe in the "15" flash problem. I here you, but keep in mind that there are several different ECU part numbers out there. There are many people who had no issues with start and idle until they got flashed to 2015. Do you have any engine mods?I have a 2015 Viper and my sled runs, starts, and ideals perfectly so I don't believe in the "15" flash problem. Edit: What flash are you on and was it that way from factory or did you update?

Just wondering what flash the 16 has? Same as the 15 flash I'm guessing?

I have a 16 XTX and have no issues so far with idle, stutter, backfiring or starter kick back.

This is good! Hopefully they did make an adjustment for 16 models and hopefully that will trickle out to the rest of us. Or maybe yours is one of the lucky ones....I have a 16 XTX and have no issues so far with idle, stutter, backfiring or starter kick back.

I have a bag of resister left over from the bike mod so I'm gonna try it! It'll take 10mins to see if it differs.

Mine runs pretty good also! But not as good as my buddy's vector. But I was just installing the pigtail for my tender and the 6ga pos on the solenoid was friggin finger tight! Great PDI, and the seat wasn't plugged in! LOLI have a 16 XTX and have no issues so far with idle, stutter, backfiring or starter kick back.
