I get a lot of PM's from guys wondering what octane they can run on their sleds. TurboKeith has provided a great .xls which is a great resource for us all to answer this question. The next question I typically get is what fuel to run, or something along the line of "am I safe with 50/50...".

I put together the attached spreadsheet to help the guys that are blending their fuel. Put the octane of your pump gas in the appropriate yellow box, and do the same for your race fuel. the sheet will automatically calculate the net octane for all of the various ratios in 1 gallon increments. I plugged in 91 pump and 112 race gas as an example, but you can change these to whatever you like.

*Edit* - I added a conversion table for liters/gallons.

Here is a formula for blending fuel also - it is (#oct x gals) + (#oct x gals) / total gals = oct - an example using the (r+m)/2 rating and a ten gallon tank - we will figure the race fuel to be 112 octane - (87 oct x 8.5 gals) + (112 oct x 1.5 gals) / 10 gals = 90.75 octane - simple as that!! ;)!

Yep, same formula I used. The .xls just gives you the effective octane without having to do all the math.
