Official Aftermarket Exhaust Hp Gains?

Well I don't care about HP gains....after switching to the EXCELL I can now actually pick up the back of my sled by myself and the sound is awesome!

You wouldn't believe how much that stock exhaust actually weighs... :exc:

That dyno sheet looks like it is from Dynotech research. It is probably an independent test and is probably reliable.

But, would you spend that kind of money for a 2-3 HP gain? That's just crazy. If you like the look of the pipe, the sound, and the weight savings then buy the pipe. Don't buy it for the very minumal HP gain.
 
i put an excell on my apex for the fact that is turboed. It was either that or gut my stock muffler to let it flow easier.
 
My reason for getting the pipe would be a combo of it making the sled have better performance and being lightter and sounding better, not just one reason.

I dont want to gut just for sound, if it had any power increase then it would be worth it. I want to be able to back up the sound with some performance, otherwise, its just a front which isnt real.

Yea a little, but first the bill has to pass the senate. The Excell isn’t that loud unless your on it, so I don’t see it being a problem but It all depends on how strict they get. If I have to I'll put the stocker back on. I picked up an exhaust shield from a wrecked Apex for cheap just incase I want to go back to stock.
 
it's 37 out of 38 votes (one absent) and is past the senate...it's now in the tourism,outdoor recreation and natural resourses committee (part of the house) and then will later go in front of granholm...I've been told it's on a "fastrack"....most likely the state looking for revenues..

the test that concerns me is the 4ft high at the rear at 4000 rpms test (88db max)..the 50 ft away under full throttle at (78db's is no peach either...although how would they know if it's full throttle)
on my sled the excell was already installed..I have the stock muffler...do I need to find a shield or ?
