Yesterday I did some repairs and maintenance on the 05 RX-1. A routine oil change and exhaust doughnut replacement. Both completed with no issues. Put the sled back together and the brake light is stuck ON as if someone was squeezing the brake. I also didn't see the temp light come on when I started the sled but that could be due to being in a heated shop and the sled might have still been warm after the oil change. I did start it after the doughnut replacement but without the seat so not sure of the brake light issue. First think I would check is the seat wiring but I wanted some other options also before I head back to the shop.

Thanks

The brake light switch is stuck... remove it from the bars and make sure its free.

There is a little black puck looking thing that is bolted through the lever and has a wire attached to it. That puck has a finger that goes up into the lever. You need to look from underneath it to see it. You need to take that apart and make sure that finger moves freely.

Looks like that black puck (brake sensor) was the issue. When I unbolted it and move the sensor manually the brake light operates as normal. I didn't see any way to "service" the sensor so just going to order another one. Its inexpensive. Will update this thread when I receive the sensor, dealer was out of stock.
