How much does it cost for the dealer to do a oil change for me while my sled is in for the 500 mile service.I was told the oil change would cost me $300cdn that seems way to high.
I did mine myself but Yamalube 4S times 4 liters and a filter was $54 taxes in. That leaves $246 for labour. At $70 an hour, they need 3 and a half hours to do the work. I did mine in less time and it was the first time I did it.
It will be three and change, so the dealer always hands you four. I know the manual says 3 L with filter but total amount is 3.8 L, but I guess they assume not all will drain unless you lift your sled up and shake it.
I was told $150 U.S. and I thought that was high. I did mine the first time and it wasn't that bad the next time will be alot easier now that I did it once. Plus its nice to look over youir sled when its some what apart . I was told with filter 3.5
If you are mechanically inclined and you don't have money to burn, do this yourself! You will save at least a hundred USD and you will be sure that everything is put back together correctly.
I personally do not trust dealers as I have had so many problems in the past with poor work (I could share some unbelievable stories).
The bottom line is that I just can't imagine paying somebody else to do something that I can do myself.
