I just hit 500 miles and am ready for my 1st oil change. I've read a bunch of Threads regarding this topic. I've read something about cleaning a screen? Where is this located?

That screen is located at the bottom of the resivoir where there will be two screws holding an outlet. It's easy to view but, I doubt that you will find anything there to remove. When you remove the filter, make sure that the o'ring comes off. I didn't and found it the next time I changed the oil. I got lucky. Don't forget the plug next to the filter marked by a diamond or arrow. My dealer says, pour one litre down the top of the engine where the plastic cap is located and two litres into the resivour. Thats all the oil you will need. Just 3 litres. The dip stick is hard to use and seems to resault into too much oil, some ending up into the air box. Mike Hayden, 05 Vector. Eden, Vt

I guess your dealer knows something the factory doesn't. Hmmm. I was told and have read that the only time you put oil in the valve cover is when the motor is brand new.. Just add two liters to the tank.. Start it up.. Turn off and add one more liter.. That's the proper way.. I say old boy..... :-o :jump: MM.
