I just hit 500 miles and am ready for my 1st oil change. I've read a bunch of Threads regarding this topic. I've read something about cleaning a screen? Where is this located? Also if the sled with a filter change takes around 3 qts, why does the manual say to only add 2 to the tank then top it off after?

When I did my first oil change this year I didn't clean a screen. I did it by the manual. Was very easy and the hardest part was getting the oil filter off. I went to advance auto parts and bought an oil filter strap and had the oil filter off in less than 2 minutes with ease. Just make sure when you take the oil filter off your sled that you get the black o ring also. Usually it will stick to the sled and if you don't get the old one off and put the new one on you'll have 2 o rings and then have some problems after. Was pretty easy and this was my first change.

My RS Nytro is my first sled and I'm guessing that putting 2 quarts in first gives the sled time to get the oil circulated back into the sled with ought over filling the oil tank. Maybe I'm wrong.

Follow your manual and just remember to check and make sure the old black o ring comes off with the old oil filter. Add a little new oil and spread it around the new o ring when you put the new one on.

MAKE SURE THE OIL FILTER GASKET/ O-RING DOESN'T STAY ATTACHED TO THE BLOCK. LOOK AND MAKE SURE IT IS STILL ON THE FILTER BEFORE YOU DISCARD IT. ITS HAPPENED BEFORE, GASKET STAYS BEHIND AND YOU HAVE TWO AND THE OIL BLOWS BY
