2011 Vector 1200 kms , having issue with oil coming out the vent line from the oil tank , any ideas ?

sled was in accident before we bought it , replaced right side suspension , oil tank (was crushed) , changed the filter put 3 l oil in , started sled then oil started coming out bottom of breather , shut it off , pulled the breather apart & was full of oil , checked the oil & toped it off , ran the engine again with the breather cover off & the oil is coming out the vent hose & not just spiting its pouring out like there is a pressure build up in crankcase

I take it you replaced the crushed oil tank with new one?... of course crushed tank will pump out oil no holding room. Off hand if new tank something is not plumbed right if oil going from crank to tank vent. Oil tank should only vent if overfilled then more of a puke then stops. See if you can catch oil venting & measure if throwing out more than a quart shut it down not overfilled.

yes replaced with new tank , oil line at bottom going to engine & return line from engine to side of tank , vent hose at top of tank going to breather , retrieved 1 full L of oil while the engine was running & was still going

Take over to RS General talk... You will get an answer over there more specific to your sled.

ok , I see it , will repost there , Thanks for your help

I slept on it & still think you overfilled the tank better to add 2 quarts to tank then run check level add & run additional oil in. Did you dump in all 3 L at once?

Drained oil from lower engine case & replaced filter , then put 3 L in the oil tank

That is probably why you are venting oil.... 3L is a lot of oil in the tank all at once. Max in tank at 1 time is 2 quarts run engine distribute to crank then add more & run again until you have taken to oil capacity. Im thinking best for you to drain tank keep fresh oil and add 2 quarts run then a little more each time after short run to distribute oil. Do not screw in cap to measure dip stick do it without srewing in. Pretty sure this is why you are venting massive oil from tank after oil change.

we will try that , just have never had that issue when doing oil change on the 06 vector we have

Nothing to lose to give it a try & I'm pretty sure it will correct your problem. Let me know when you can.
