oil filter? Whats everyone using?

leaving for west trip and wanted to change oil so I order a filter local parts store, They crossed over the 5DM-13440-00 to a WIX 51358 the filter is a little longer

same as the wix 51365 , napa filters are made by wix, and this is a little shorter and easier to install then the one mentioned above.

I read on here about a possible problem with a longer filter getting punctured if you where to hit a rock and bend something? Not sure on the details but just a heads up.

I don't think I'd put a longer one on. You take out the filter and you just toasted your motor.

The 5DM-13440-00-00 is 2" long. If you run a longer filter in conjunction with the stock unaltered "engine protector" you are asking for trouble. Too many people now have found out the hard way.

Just to clarify I agree 100%. I am running the roest skidplate which gives more clearance and if something gets through that the oil filter will likely be the last of my issues.
