I changed the oil, put new filter on, there were two rubber gaskets on the filter, have never seen this before does anyone know if the oil filters suppose to have both gaskets? I road 150 miles yesterday and only had the o-ring on filter on. did not see an issue till this morning went to check sled and found oil on pan.

oops, your sled should have only had 1 gasket. Two will cause oil to leak. Did you buy it used?

Did the new filter come with 2 gaskets or are you saying that the old one had 2 on it? And, it is leaking now with only 1 gasket on the filter?
I changed my filter last year and the old one and new one both only had 1 gasket.

Making sure the old gasket comes off every time is a must do....... If you screw it up you may be buying a new motor........... Only one "O" ring... MM.

i know when i did the first oil change on the wifes 07' vector the i had a hard time getting the filter off and the oil ring actually stayed in the sled and had to peel it off the filter seat. it was almost like someone didnt preoil the ring before putting on the filter. maybe this happened to yours as well.

factory oil filter seal sticks....
I have a 2007 Rage and when I did the first oil change the gasket stayed on the engine. Last winter the 2008 Vector we had just purchased did the same thing at it's first oil change.
Fortunately I had read about this issue and checked for/removed the old gasket before putting on the new filter. This is a pretty a common problem with the factory installed filter.
Sounds like you were lucky, usually the dual gasket results in an oil leak and a damaged engine.
