oil leak

so I have an 05 RS venture. after a ride noticed a puddle of oil underneath. I checked the filter ,no signs of leaking. drained the oil from tank and crankcase. removed the filter to check for extra gasket. no extra gasket .tightened the filter,put it all back together,added oil.It still continues to leak.no signs of leak around drain plugs or filter.
started leaking out the sides of the bottom cover as soon as I added oil.any Idea would help. thanks

Haven't found a leaky hose yet (at least what I can see ). Did find 2 dead mice which could have helped the leaking issue. Does any one know of a repair Manuel for the RS.

Check your airbox. If it's overfull, it will puke it into the airbox, and then out bellypan.

Oil level should NEVER be over 1/2 way up checkers on dipstick WITH DIPSTICK SCREWED IN.

There is a 3/8 hose or so, that connects to the bottom of the air box. if it has come off, it will blow oil out like you say. It is just barely long enough and is a bear to hook up while installing the box. I replace mine with a longer one. The other end connects to the end of the motor case.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It may be a while before I can tear into it. With temps in the high 30s and rain in the forecast for this week. The season may be coming to an early end for me. I have no garage so at least with the warm weather. Repairs and investigation will be easier. Will post if I find a solution. Thanks

It's not very hard to pop the hood, undo the 4 clips & look for excess oil in the airbox.

At least then you'd know if it's blowing it in there, or if it's coming from elsewhere.

Update. So finally brought the sled to a Polaris dealer. Local Yamaha dealer closed. Turns out I apparently hit a rock pretty good at some point cause the oil pan is cracked and Ned's. to be replaced. So they say parts not expensive but labor will be. Have to remove the engine and they say that's pretty complicated. It sucks but I can't blame Yamaha just my self riding in crappy condition but that's all we have lately.

Sounds like the OP found his problem, but I've done exactly that! Mine pumped out enough oil to kick on the low oil light in a relatively short time, all because that hose was off! Made a huge mess obviously, and the thing is a bear to get on correctly. Next time the air box is off there is a longer one going back on.

Oil pan is cracked? Do you mean the lower crankcase? Didn't think these engines had an oil pan.

Had this happen to me when putting the battery in before the season. Took it out for the first ride came back had a little puddle coming from the oil filter cover plate. Tracked it back to that hose. Suppose to have a clamp on it but it came up missing hose popped off. Bought a clamp hose, back on no more oil coming out.
