Last time I was out riding my oil light would come on sometimes. Every time I rolled it on it's side it would come on. I can understand that how the switch in the tank would do that when on it's side. It did it a few times when I would come off the top of a hill and stand it up pretty high.
I had just changed the oil. I ran it after I changed it and checked it and it looked good. I ran it again for about ten minutes and the level still looked good. How much oil are you guys normally using on an oil change. I put three quarts in it and it was showing full.
I hope my rollover valve shows up soon also. That sucks worrying about that every time that I lay the thing on it's side.

once you have the rollover valve no more problems with oil.

3 Quarts is about right, depending on if you pulled the small drain plug in the bottom of the crankcase.
Also when checking the oil, just place the dip stick/sensor in the oil tank, (don't screw it in).

Thanks for the help. So do any of you have issues with the oil light coming on when getting the sled vertical coming off the top of a hill. The light doesn't go off unless I shut the motor off either. I just want to make sure that this is not just something going on with my sled.

I haven't seen it when going vertical, but then I don't get vertical that often either
I have seen it come on if the sled is sitting at a fairly steep side ways angle ie stuck on the side of a hill, (much more common for me
. I usually will pull the tether to close the roll-over valve, so I don't loose oil.
The light always go'es out after I have leveled the sled out and cycled the key though.
I could see how the light would come on if your doing a high wheelie cresting a hill. As it would cause the oil to drain to the rearward side of the tank. About the only way that I can think of to prevent this, would be to go to an aftermarket oil tank that would have additional baffles in it.

My oil light will come on when climbing steep mtn and sometimes when I'm boondocking for a long time. How's the snow in Utah? I should be in Logan sometime around March. I'm looking forward to it.

Thats annoying that you have to shut it off to get that to go off. I wish it just went back off when the switch closed again. The snow amount has been good but a little too warm. Snow was pretty soft last time but it snowed yesterday and more coming for the weekend
how is it up your way?
