I tipped my sled over a few times this past weekend while playing around in some deep snow. How much oil leaks out in a 15 second period? I noticed some oil on my shop floor tonight and I'm hoping that is what its from.
Oil loss from sled being on its side?

If thats all the time it was on its side its not that big a deal. Oil loss should not be that significant. But, oil will come out.
If its on its side, defintely shut it down. Once righted, I let it sit for a minute before starting and sometimes I will let it idle for a minute or two before riding to allow oil pressure to balance out. I wouldnt jump on it and ride it hard especially if the oil light is flashing.

If you are going to carve in deep snow you should be installing a roll over valve. You lay it on the left side, engine running or not you are going to lose oil through the breather.

I laid mine on the left for approx. 5-10 minutes and loss no oil. I got it back up and waited another 10 minutes before starting it. Let it idle while oil light flashed for 1 minute and shut it down. Restarted it and no problems and no oil loss. If I did it was small. Oil stick still at same level. The sled was at a good 45 degrees when it got stuck.

Open your air box. I have done the same thing before I put the rov on and had no measurable loss on the stick but there was some in the airbox. If there isn't any in there and you didn't loose any I would check to make sure the breather tube isn't plugged or restricted.

I'll look this summer when I tear the sled down. For now it is down till I get lower clutch plastic piece (hood 1) and limiter strap.

How far on its side are we talking? I put mine and my step fathers on their side to install skid plates and no oil loss issue. Both onto their left side about half way between upright and laying completely on the floor.

I wouldn't worry about it. A little oil in the box is gonna hurt nothing.

45 isn't really an issue. 90 is.
