Hey guys, I'm mounting a turbo up close to the engine in a custom build. With most turbo work I've done with cars an oil pressure source is used - like "T"ed off the pressure sender and connected to the turbo and then it's basically a gravity drain to the oil pan above the oil level.
Can that be done with the rx1 engine as well? the oil tank will be lower than the turbo.
Thanks!!

Yes, but depending on the model turbo you plan on using will dictate what size oil pressure restrictor you'll need to use in the feed line between the turbo and the engine.
Also if you are using gravity drain back, use as a large of a line as you can to ensure you don't have any restriction.

I don't know how you're planning on running the turbo but this is how I plumbed in my drain line. You'll need to get as much gravity flow as possible so it will still drain when climbing.

I'm using a new Efr6258. The engine is going in a vk 540 chassis and i'll be running nitrous as well. I have a new camoplast cobra 1.5" track on it and might stud it up too. Microbelmont is making custom shafts for it now.
There is so much room I could twin turbo it if I wanted. I'll also be running a water air intercooler.
I think I'll just use a scavenge pump...why worry about weight now!
I won't be running coolant to the turbo.

like mbarryracing said, large drain hose, restrictor on the feed side and you can gravity drain it back to the tank but I would say throw a scavange pump on it just to be safe.
