Oil Tank Drain Plug

Now that we’ve been staying at a new hotel in Maine with access to a heated warehouse on the former Loring Air Force Base, I’ve been looking at ways to make seasonal maintenance easier. One of the items that crossed my mind is the 2,500 mile oil change (since we hit this amount at least twice per year) and I started looking at oil drain valves and hose to limit how much oil I poured all over the engine bay.

Does anyone have the thread size for the drain plug in question? Thanks!

Barn Of Parts has a really nice kit. Were you thinking something different? I know it was asked before in Viper section but can’t find it.
 
I couldn’t find anything on the BOP website. I saw it on the Ulmer website, but no matter how hard I try, I get no replys on phone calls or e-mails.

I found a drain valve (http://www.stahlbus.com/products/en/oil-drain-valve/index.php) that using a spring versus a ball valve. I have the ball valve-style on my truck, but I’m doing a little bit of research between the two
 
Oh sorry to hear that. Your right it was Ulmer selling them. Sorry. Maybe he will start doing sled stuff soon. I know he farms but should be slowing down with that soon. Not making excuses for that though. Try contacting TD Max on here. He is the one who came up with that kit. Not sure if he sells them though.
 
Just do the removable lower right panel mod.... rockerdan made a good video explaining the mod process....This removable panel makes any service to engine oil or chaincase "EZ Peezy" with NO fluid mess.
I'm not crazy about a flexible extension line hanging off the oil tank near the exhaust bouncing around causing other risks .....
Once the panel is modified to be removable, it only takes 3-5mins to remove......

I had the ulmer kit on the Viper and it was great, but after modding both '18s to be removable on both sides, I will never do anything but!!!!!!! It makes things soooo much easier. Not just the oil change. The '21 will be modded by the end of the week. This is a great cheap way to do it, money far better spent imo: https://www.harborfreight.com/45-piece-threaded-insert-riveter-kit-1210.html

and how many fasteners are on the right side, I’m definitely doing this
 
I put a belly pan protector on my 'Winder - so a removable panel doesn't do me too much good. I'll agree that I'm not a fan of that Hauck kit - I was looking at the EZ Oil Drain Valve last night and it seems so much more straightforward than having a line bouncing around and hitting everything. Just thread the valve in and go - when you want to change the oil, thread a hose connector in, run the hose through a hole in the running boards, and you're good to go.

I'm assuming the lower right panel modification is done so through rivnuts - have you or anyone you heard of had any issues with the rivnuts and the plastic body panels?

Absolutely no issue with rivnuts and the plastic panels..... Use stainless steel components for a rust free application..... Just use the appropriate size SS washer.... Can you not still incorporate the panel removal with the belly pan fastening points?
