I plan on installing the oilite bushing kits on my 04warrior and my brothers 06 Nytro very soon.My question has to do with the oilite bushings for the ski spindle. When i would take apart my spindles the inside bushing would show no wear. This would make sense since there is a grease fitting on the spindle.I have the oilites bushings for this area but im wondering if its just a waste of time to replace these? And if i replace these with the oilites should i not pump grease into the spindles anymore?

Your observation is spot on. Every set of bushing I have installed showed little or no wear on the spindles. That being said I still replaced they because I have them in my hand and the sled is apart. And yes I still grease the spindles. Those bushing will now last forever.........

X2, I replaced mine as well.
Just be sure to mark your ends so you know where it came apart.

Got lazy installing my second set of oilites. Skipped the spindles on my second sled, as spindle bushings were good, and didn't want to deal with all that grease for no good reason. No slack anyhow due to being able to grease that area. Still have the bushings if they need ever to be replaced. A arm bushings at the bulkhead by far showed the most wear. And yes, oilite spindle bushings still need grease.

Ya, but as we all know you can only put grease where there is a fitting.

Actually, Super, I can't get grease in quite a few of the zerks on my sled, so I take it apart before each season and use a high grade marine grease, especially on the areas that don't have zerks.
Marine grease won't work it's way out as fast, and resists water better.

Thx Nate. I was saying that tongue in cheek, joking about missing grease fittings where you wish one existed, lol. I just put all new grease fittings in my skid this summer. I didn't remove my a-arms, or I'd have put grease fittings in there, too. I wish some came there stock, they should have and I think in 09 Yamaha did start putting them in the a arms. But I digress! I liketo keep things nice and greased up too. I use Amsoil blue syn grease. It's really water resistant which is nice. But the best part is it still moves in subzero temps, where some grease gets really stiff.
