For all of you suspension guru's out there. I bought a Skidoo SC10 II from Boomer (Thanks for sending it quickly Boomer (great guy)). I was fortunate enough to meet another great guy DaxeRX1 from the site that llived like 15 minutes from me that had a SC10III installed. Turns out my GF knows them but anyway LOL (Another great guy even let me try his sled man what a difference) I took all of the measurments and pics I could from his sled but it has a Rev SC10III in it and the one I bought has a MXZ SC10III in it. I went to someones house and took measurments from there MXZ to make sure that it would mount the same (the Rev has a small mounting bracket instead of bolting right through the cross shaft about an inch long the MXZ bolts go right into the cross shaft) OK now getting to my point the Rev skid bolt hole to bolt hole is 251/2 inches where as the MXZ skid measured 241/8 I assume I want to mount the rear the same as Dave did on his Rev then move the front mount hole back to 241/8th like the MXZ factory distance the difference being the MXZ doesnt have that extra mount bracket and the cross shaft on the Rev Skid would measure about 241/8th without it. This should keep all my geometry correct right?????? LOL I am hoping someone that has put something in can help decipher the correct way. I wouldnt think it would be right to move the rear forward to shorten the distance then the track would be loose and I wouldnt think leaving them a little further apart would be right as the geometry is very picky Dave told me. What do you all think. Anyone wanting to send me some help directly I have a Blackberry and can get email at ronald.stewart@ssa.gov 24/7. Thanks in advance guys and for those of you that dont know I am last minute Ron me and some buddies have a trip planned up north for a week and we leave Wed night LOL always last minute hehehehehe

What an awful mess I think this may be the last Yamaha I ever buy at this rate. I got the thing lifted up and found a pick had ripped out and ruined my track. OK that is driver error or my fault for having picks on the outside edges I have 144. So I have to send a buddy after a track. As I am taking it apart of course there is a bad bearing in the drive shaft on the speedo side. Luckily the parts place my buddy was at had one I will try and submit it to Yamaha warranty later. So now we have to replace a bearing and replace the track on top of trying to fit in the new suspension. We make the brackets and I move the front hole back 11/8 inch to compensate for the difference as mentioned above. the limiter straps are very tight only one bolt in them so we let them out some front shock on hardest setting and set the rear springs on hard and I can still jump on the thing and hit bottom of the suspension. I think I am going to have to get heavy springs or something is wrong. in the geometry I can not tell it seems OK but I rode on DaveRX and I didnt notice it with his and he wasnt on the hard setting. Anyone got any ideas how and what does the coupler in the rear do will it affect bottoming out?

Bummer I am leaving for up north and most of the SkiDoo guys I spoke with including the dealer say the same thing, that the springs are only good for about a 225 pound rider max. Looks like I need some fat guy springs to start with. Also they mentioned shock rebuilds quite a bit and the fact that if they are weak you can loose up to 100 pounds of lift with them hey anyone know someone in Maine that can revalve and rebuild a shock I think trailside does it for 65 bucks but I have to check. I will let you all know how it goes as far as riding up north hopefully the snow god will hook us up, doesnt look like it though 38 and snow rain mix for Friday.

At last minute, there is little room for errors, LOL. Hope you get it up and running well before your trip. Have a good time on the snow.
