Ok, i bought the skidont heated visor kit and ran power direct from the battery to the visor plug with a 10A inline fuse about 8 inches off the battery. Now where should the ground wire go to? There is only one red wire coming out of the visor plug outlet. Any help is greatly appreciated.

is it the type of plug that has to be drilled through a piece of metal and you put a small flat nut on it to hold it on? if so thats your ground ..mounting ti to a metal object.

I'm trying to understand what you mean. There should be 2 wires. One runs to the battery (I'm pretty sure Doo used red for this one), and there should be a 2nd, attached to a metal ring that is put over the back of the visor plug, held on by the mounting nut. That runs to ground.
I hate to tell you, but you paid around $20 for the same plug that you can get at Radio Shack for $2.50. At least the Doo plug has a cover though...the R.S. one doesn't.

thanks guys,
thats the way i wired it with the wire with the ring on it around the base of the plug and then grounded the other end to the frame. its the only way i could think of that made any sence to me

Actually, I should have pointed out...because you are powering a simple heating coil, it really doesn't matter which wire goes where...unless you ever power something else off the same wire. I plan to power a helmet radio off the same wire, so I don't have to keep changing batteries, so it did mater when I installed mine.
