just wanted to make it official.....i've been lurking on this site for several weeks asking questions and trying to learn as much a bout the RX-1 as i could....based mostly on info from the knowledgable people on this site...i snow-checked an '05 RX-1 ER. :-o ..i was a longtime AC guy and actually had good luck with them. but i've never been a big fan of the Firecat and the 900 isn't available with reverse,sooooooo....good part is my excellent dealer also sells Yamaha. :D ......glad to be a part of this site and keep up the good posting. ;)! ..........Jeff

Welcome aboard! You can still be a fan of ditch pickles, they are the lightest sled you tow in next season.

Welcome aboard OWL600cc,

I too ordered a 2005 RX-1er in Candy red. What color did you order??

Just where in SouthWest Quebec are you??

I will be doing most of my riding in Quebec this coming season South of the "Saint Laurent" as the trails in Quebec are so smooth.

I have a 2003 RX-1er with 6700 miles on it and I love the machine. Just spent yesterday doing my spring check on the RX and that includes taking the skid out to check, clean and replace any bearings, etc. Only found the bearing in the outside rear wheel needed to be replaced. Everything else was in very good condition. Will put the skid back in today and then clean it for summer storage.

thanks for the advice.i'll try again since it didn't work yesterday..........i got the candy red one also...my dealer told me he has only sold one blue one!........i live in about 30 miles SW of Montreal.. 45 minutes to Ontario border...30 minutes to U.S. border....about 5 minutes from st. lawrence river (english version of St. Laurent).....we're lucky here in Quebec since the trail and snowmobile business is taken very seriously...trails are generally very good :yam:

Welcome JWL600CC I too just joined after lurking for some time (year or so). I also ordered the Candy Red but on a Warrior. I also switch from Cat and had very little trouble with them. I like you, do not favour the F-Cats but have rode one and was impressed, just not my type of sled.

The 900 was on my list but no long track, no reverse. The Mach Z almost made the list till I sat on one and was not at all comfortable with the seating position (was better than the Rev but not much)

So I went with the Four Stroke, long track, reverse, electric start Yami. No more two stroke smell. No more carring 6 liters of extra oil on my 800 mile trips.

Welcome aboard... Are you ready to get great gas milage.. and have a extremely realiable sled that really rocks.. THEY YOU ORDERED THE RIGHT SLED!! :4STroke:

Another smart person who actually rode Arctic Craps. Amazing how we think they are all of the slopeheaded origin. Hey welcome we are glad to have you and I guarantee that you will never buy another sled that doesn't say Yamaha on it. Guaranteed ;)!
