Ontario/Canadian sledders, what prices are your dealers letting the 05 RX-1 ER be spring ordered for?
I've checked around locally and most dealers are saying the lowest they will go is in the $12,700 range.
Comparing this to the prices mentioned in the Wisconsin price post, it should be more like 11,000 (8200 US = 11,000 Cdn).
What are your dealers letting them go for?

Only a couple hundred less than what you show. But they are giving crap on trades so economic suicide to try and upgrade.

Just thought I'd bump this one to the top.
I'm still trying to get an idea of how far I can nogotiate the price down, the more prices I get the better. My plan is to order in April.
Alternatively, I'm also wondering if I can buy a sled state side (saving close to $2000 Cdn).

There is a simple explanation for the difference in the relative price between buying something in Canada vs. buying in the US. Right now, the Canadian dollar is unusually strong with respect to the US$. Now, the price levels in each country are set, but the exchange rate is messed up.... On most things, as Canadians, you can save about 10% by buying from the US instead of Canada. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT SPECIFIC to buying snowmobiles.

I agree - and it's a nice change for us Canadians. It used to be only electronics and aftermarket auto parts were cheaper down south, now with the strong dollar, everything is cheaper if we buy in the US.
So - what would happen if I bought my sled down there?
My understanding is Yamaha has agreements with their dealers not to sell cross border - however, it does happen regularly (I don't think it would be to hard to set up).
Would I still have a warranty? Any of you guys tried this?

Thanks - that's the best price so far. Where are you located?
Also, when you say - $500 yamadollar do you lose it?

They have no say in where you go with it. You will still have a warranty, but you may have to drive south to use it. If you get a YES warranty package, you should have no problems. You will definitely face tax to import it.

Sorry about this maybe I'm a little slow today....
Do you get to keep the yamadollars or do you loose them getting the price down?
I've heard in the US they'll typically give you 50 cents on the dollar for the yamabucks ($800 yamabucks = $400 off the price).

There is a 2.5 percent duty on a Yamaha sled because they are built in Japan.
Yamaha Canada and Yamaha USA are two different companies and set their own prices and warranty policies. I have heard but cannot confirm that a US sled will not have warranty in Canada unless the original owner is in Canada on holidays with the sled.
Needless to say, I am going to look into this fairly soon as I am considering buying an RX1 in the US.

There is no duty on Yamaha sleds. I bought a SRX in the US. You must pay a $180 import fee & have the sled saftied in order to be registered. You must get a letter from Yamaha stating the sled you have in your possesion has no factory recalls outstanding. Been der dun dat!
