Need a little trail info. I am planning a trip from Quebec to Michigan through Ontario. I have been as far as Chapleu. In a normal Winter, what is the best way to get into the Upper Pennisula?

IF you can make it to ST Joseph island, then you can take the ice to drummond. But you won't see that til Feb.

Chapleau to Elliot LAke, Elliot Lake to Iron Bridge, Iron Bridge to Thessolon, Thessolon to Bruce Mines, Bruce Mines to St Joseph Island. Then take the ice to Drummon Island U.S.

But the trails are hit and miss, if they are even open. I live right near there and the trails have not bene open up that way the last 2 seasons due to low snow.

But how do you get to mich? That trail from wawa to the sault is now closed.

I think you can get from Elliott Lake down to the Sault if there is snow but to get across to Michigan there will not likely be enough ice to cross.
The border that way is also not good with all the regulations.
Best bet is to trailer across the bridge.

With the right enticement they can likely bum a ride.
I would volunteer but its too far off to commit to anything.
