I was wondering if anyone has experience with the difference in a fully clipped track compared to a partially closed window track. Which one rolls better and which one provides better hyfax wear?j

agreed....open window is better in every aspect(top speed,slider wear,rolling resistance,fuel economy,clip life)

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread by asking this question but when you guys are opening the closed windows are you adding any clips?

yes most guys with stock ripjunk track use this with much success....personally i pulled that track off before i rode the sled 5 feet, and dealer gave me a NEW predator in return for me to install....
I would never run a ripsaw....but some people do like them, just not for me.
either way,get the rubber away from slider to help with alot of issues....my guess is in a couple more yrs that horrible design flaw of closed windows will be a thing of the past,as they seem to be finally getting rid of them all.

I already have SLP pads on all of my sleds. I was just curious if the were adding clips to the open windows thats all.

Yes I added clips. the flat style, not the guide clip with the right angle leg.
I think open is better. seems to roll better and hyfax last better.
Kind of glad I did too, as at 10000 miles the original guide clips were worn thru and started to fall off. The newer clips I added kept me from having no clips. I just put new guide clips on to replace the worn out or missing ones....

I am full clip with a 136 x 1.5 negligible top end reduction from the bigger paddle, and the clips have made the hyfax last longer
