Was riding in the back country with some buddies a few weeks ago. One of my Friends has a 08 Nytro RTX the same as my self. We both have some different mods done. I found that my sled trenched much worse then his, and when we were stuck his was much easier to get out, all we had to do was pull on his ski and most of the time his came out first try. At first I thought it was the rider weight issue, as he is much lighter than me. But even with him riding my sled you could still see it was worst and vice versa on his I could see his was better than mine. I will outline the different mods we have and see what you guys think could be causing it.
Skis - Buddies sled has stock skis, I have Slydog Powder hounds. Could it be that my sled stays up on the fwd end so much better than his that it is causing mine to trench more. But would this still explain it when the sleds are stuck?
Tracks - We both have the 121" x 1.5" Intense, but my buddy has 96 studs in his. I would not think that this would help, could it?
Suspension setting - At first I thought that maybe he had his limiter straps pulled up but no we both have the same settings. Both straps completely let out.
Clutching - I have Ulmer's clutch kit, K&N's and PC and full exhaust. His sled is basically stock. Could the extra grunt of my sled be hurting in deep snow?
Any thoughts on the matter?

check engagement rpm,s.
Higher engagement = bad for deep snow riding.

Ok will check that, thanks Turk. If I want to lower the engagement how do I go about doing that. Turk as you always say you can`t have everything, so whats the the trade off with a lower engagement

i put slydogs on mine and yes i think that is the answer the skis float but the back end still sinks under power.
