I doubt it has anything to do with the dealer.

Yamaha CANADA is shady, they do anything they can to avoid warranty.

All the Canadians looking to buy a sled, buy from USA don't waste your time.

FYI if you buy your sled in the US no Canadian dealer will do warranty work. So its not a good idea. Fight with them. They should cover it.

I understand Yamaha Canada will not cover anything on warranty with a USA sled, but what's the difference, it is not like they cover anything either on a Canada bought sled.

If a canadian buys a yamaha sled from USA and save 5k, you don't think that 5k will go a long way for any future repairs? I am willing to bet it will cover alot of repairs, upgrades and still have some extra money left over.

If he would have saved 5000 on the sled, he'd still be 4795 ahead after repairing this sled

Yamaha Canada is calling this a 'Maintenance Issue'.

Truly a strange excuse for them.

If it's cracked, how is that due to maintenance, or lack thereof?

Ridiculous.

I mean what maintenance do you do to pipes? You could shine them up, but that has nothing to do with anything but appearance.

Plus, its not like it is something really easy to access.

Not my experience by any stretch.

I have had all four brands and had some issues with all of them.

I have nothing but good to say about Yamaha Canada. No other manufacturer comes close in customer service in my book.

I have had few issues with my Yammies [10 of them] but those I had came up after the warranty had expired. They covered everything. [Apex GT Shock, Warrior running a little hot, water pump seal on a 700 V Max]

Pricing is the only issue with Yamaha Canada for me.

Exporting a US sled to Canada does not void your warranty. Just means you have to bring it back to a US dealer for warranty work to be covered, or you can pay out of pocket for repairs in Canada. Calling Yamaha motor US to complain will get you nowhere. They are completely seperate entities. You would have to call Japan. P.S. good luck with that.
