So want some opinions here. Trying to decide between a sr viper or a viper rtx se. Like the black n really like the red just not sure on the fox floats?? Have heard mixed results on these shocks. are they that pig of a pain. Have heard your constantly adjusting them. Is this true?? Wish they have offered the base viper in red then be a no brainer. Thoughts please

Yami where do you ride? You don't have a location listed. It will depend on the kind of riding you plan on doing also. If you like well groomed trails with small bumps the base shocks will be the better choice and offer a better plush ride. If you like to ride aggressive and large bumps you will want the Fox Floats as they will not bottom as easily and can be adjusted infinitely.

Rarely adjust mine once they are set to my liking.
live n ride in chaut.co in western ny. Trails are mostly good. clubs do what they can but you know what lots of traffic does. Sounds like you dont have to adjust to much then. How often do the floats need to be rebuilt??
Id go with the LTX SE with the snow you get it would be better. Also the adjustment of the shocks is not something that has to be done all the time but it is far more tunable than coils, plus it comes with the pump and a breeze to adjust. My old 08 Nytro fad floats and no problems with them to date and just sold the sled.

If you are just a trail rider and don't seek out jumps and big bumps than I would go with the regular Viper you get a heated seat a bag and a taller windshield. If you do jump and search for bumps and hit drifts than I would go with the floats. Rebuilding them is suppose to be rebuilt like every two years. Remember if the float goes out it will not have anything holding it up. So if your miles away from home that would be a rough ride. If the shock goes out with a coil at least it will hold your sled up and can make it home with a lot more comfort. But the fox float shocks are really good shocks. I have had them on my Nytro and never had a problem with them. But they are a rougher ride. The more air you let out the more you change your ride height and that could change your ride all together. So it pretty much all depends on how you ride. With the coil shocks you can still jump and search for big bumps but they will bottom out a lot more. So it is a toss up.
X2 Well said.
