For so many years we have heard the lame excuse about yamaha charging canadians more $ for sleds because us and candadian exchange. Exchange is almost par. And obviously these sleds are built in the US. Why are we being charged almost $3000.00 more for the same model SR Viper? I put a down payment on a LTX-SE $14995.00 in Canada. What are US Prices? Please let me know what you US guys are being quoted?

Hate to Bitch but listen to this.
Parts are killing us here.
8DN belts in canada are $98.00/belt plus taxes
Us pricing is $54.00 @ Cycle parts
We are getting screwed.

I am excited to see a good handling chassis finally!
But I am very disappointed in the $2000.00 Price difference between Canada and the USA! I mean what gives! No YEN now and still Canadians are being gouged! What excuse is there now?

Dunno on that bit yet, I asked this morning and was told all OE’s are 15 – 20% higher in Canada than the US. Don’t know how accurate this is without doing my own research but if its true, its an industry wide issue. The relief may be found in the sales programs but again, I haven’t studied them yet. I am going to wait and see what the other companies are doing re: pricing before throwing up a red flag but I have to agree with you as a Canadian, I am struggling with a lot of different product pricing imbalance with the USA, I don’t understand (or like it) either! Thanks cr

Vote with your wallet and don't buy a sled from Yamaha Canada unless they come down in price. This is the only way they will listen.

Out of the 4 OEMs, Yamaha is the worst at gouging Canadians, averaging $2000 more per sled, while Skidoo is around $1500 and Arctic Cat around $1700. Polaris is usually better with about a $1300 premium for Canadians.

If you're buying a Viper LTX SE, why not just buy the Arctic Cat XF 7000 Sno Pro for $14300? Btw, the Viper LTX SE is $12950 in the States.

Grimm nailed it, but in the OP s case, it,s already to late.
You,ve got to do your homework, before you buy.
Asking a question like he did, after he already committed, is going to be even more painful once he sees what the Americans are paying.
