So I didn’t know this was an oil seal and the bearing behind it was lubricated by the engine oil... I took some Yamalube clear grease and squirt some pumps in with a grease needle... I did run it on and off for approximately five minutes at various rpms... what damage did I do if any??? its brand new oil and filter so I suppose I need to do a full oil change again... and pull the gear reduction cover where I deposited the grease... can I just pull that cover without draining the oil??? What happens if I don’t do the oil change??? Or pull the cover??? will the grease mix with the oil???

So here’s what I found!!! Most of the grease was retained in the cover...going to clean it up good and run it fo a weekend... I’ll keep a close eye on the oil and change it after that weekend

You're fine. After you clean up what you can, that little bit won't hurt the oil.

The gears inside oil pump housings on certain engines get packed with grease to prime them on a fresh startup after a rebuild.
