OUCH!! Learned a hard lesson this weekend!! THE HARD WAY!!

GLAD YOUR OK BRIAN!

Sounds like your very lucky!

Speed is fun but very dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!

That damn track locking almost got me last year running 115-120 on hard packed road too!

I guess we shouldn't let up! lol!

GOOD LUCK!

BR

It's those Damn ECP filters!!  I knew it ...they make the machine to fast and powerful!!!   Just kidding.

Seriously Welter...Thank You for the reminder....and glad to hear your OK. Even though we all try to make our machines the fastest and the best we need to rembember to always remain in control and not let that addictive component ...SPEED get in the way. I approach every corner and every straight away thinking of the worst that could happen...keeps me safe that way and keeps my kids with a Father.

Welter what you did has happened to all of us seasoned riders at least once! Learn from your experience and move forward.

Ride Safe Everyone.

Brian!! Glad you are ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will be in our prayers dailly. Iron can be replaced by neat guys like you are hard to find.

Glad to hear you're OK!! When you have the complete parts list together post it up & I'll see if there is anything I can donate to the cause...

Why Did your track lockup?

I'm glad your OK!!!!

ENGINE BREAKING!!!!!! :x

Engine breaking shouldn't lock up the track. Sounds like you may have been experiencing too much friction between the track and the sliders. You need snow on the sliders to keep the track spinning easily.

You could be right...

I just dropped it off at the dealer ship and it doesnt look good... They might total it.. there was TWO other rx-1s there.. One was a mountain that rolled... not including tunnel it cost $2500 to fix...

Im guessing mine will be in the $4000+ range to fix..

Well i just got back from eagle river wisconson today from a shortened three day weekend... was supposed to be a four day weekend...(can you guess whats coming..?

First day we only rode 80 miles becuase a friends polaris 500 was running badly and went back for repairs!!

Second day we went about 20 miles when i happend to see a nicely glazed paved rode that i wanted to test the top speed of my sled on...(i only could get 103mph on the speedo on the lake Rough conditoins)...

anyway i went down this road telling my buddys on my communicators that i would do a top speed run... I went down the road about full throttle for only about a 1/8 mile or so and saw 95mph then i came back and saw 105mph .. And not being happy with that decided to run back again WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS.... I Nailed the throttle from a stop ...Spinning for about 40 feet and held the throttle for about a mile.. Seeing 116mph on the speedo when i realized i was going to fast and the end of the road was coming up soon.... I let off the gas and the track LOCKED UP!! i was sliding and i mean FAST!!! When i realized i wasnt going to stop i threw the sled sideways and jump off the sled.. and closed my eyes in Horror!

The sled flew off the end of the road hitting a pile of snow and becoming air born into the trees.. and i followed after.. It happened so fast i cant even tell you what happened after that... When i finally stopped hearing trees hitting me and my helmet i realized i had stopped and was ALIVE!

I had flown 6 feet off the ground and 30 feet farther than the sled which hit two trees breaking them off at the base... Windshied, Hood, left ski and many parts TORN OFF!! Pushed the left side of the tunnel in hitting the secondary clutch and Busting off a good chunk of the Sheive!! Blew the gas cap right off...Leaking gas and ani freeze untill i turned the sled over..

I yelled for my buddys and they came to the rescue..Luckely i was OK just alittle shaken up and sore!! Unlike the sled which maybe a total loss!! We will find out tommaro...!!

Moral of the Story......100mph IS FAST ENOUGHT FOR ANYONE!!! DONT PUSH IT!!!

Im lucky and gratefull to be alive...

Brian..
I will sell you my 04 warrior Buster

you are as dumb as they come its people like you that end up killing yourselves or someone else.

Right back at you for making a stupid comment like that about someone else's misfortune. As if it was not humble enough for him to post this so others could be reminded of something I'm sure we all forget too soon, then he has to read this comment. If you read through the post, others have done similar things. It wasn't like he was drunk or riding erractically; just trying to do some test runs. Maybe not the most appropriate place to do it but I'm sure all tuners have done this before (top speed runs).

6 posts and you have the balls to make that comment? Buddy....if I were you I would just sit down over there. We are all freindly with each other here and you are not making a very good first impression for a rookie.

Why did you buy the RX1....? Oh....yeah it was for 4-stroke reliability ONLY....nothing to do with the fact that it's an R1 engine eh buddy?? Speed was not on your mind at all when making your purchase.  Even though you make a dumb-#*$&@ comment like that I still wouldn't wish what happened to Welter on you or anyone else on this site for that matter. So back the F&*K off and let the guy be...how would you like to be out of sled for this season!
