As you know I just had a mpi kit installed on my Nytro, with meth injection. The thing I would like to get dialed in before she goes to Michigan for some testing is the overheating issue. I took her out for about 8 rips on the track. There was about 6" of snow, and it was around 26 degrees out. She was running slightly hot when moving, around 170-185. She can not even think of running and standing still. It will climb to 200+ real quick, so I shut her down. I had an added heat exchanger added to then tunnel last year since she would get hot standing around after hard riding. I also added 6 total extra vents to the sled (three per side). The only cooling negative I did was add the BR Tech hood. Which doesn't have as large of a opening around the light, and it has a 80% open screen.I hear there is only one temperture style of thermostat for the Nytro, Is this true? Where should I start tomorrow when I get her to my shop? Here is what I was thinking tell me if I am wrong and/or if you have any better suggestions

1) Check for air in the system. What is the best method?
2) Check head gasket since it was just put on
3) Check fan to make sure she is blowing
4) Look for any kinked or clogged hoses
5) Test coolant, I believe it is a stock mix still
Any Good ideas where to start first, or what to do? Thanks for the help again :o|

Is you coolant mixture right? Make sure you have enough water mixed in with the anti freeze. Also, consider adding "water wetter" to your cooling system. It will definetely bring your temps down.

Whenever i have a warm running sled(had a few) water wetter is your friend.

It's probably an air lock. I remember after I installed my exchanger, that I filled up the rad and noticed that my overheat light came on pretty quickly. After shutting it down and letting it cool, I opened up the rad cap and sure enough coolant was way down. I topped it up again and ran the engine with the sled's nose lifted high in the air to help air out the system. Afterwards, everything was cool...literally.

I'll start there. Check the coolant and tip here up and check for an air lock. Thanks for the help guys it is really appreciated ;)!

Grimm has the way, get that nose up high to get all the air out of it.

When does the hot light come on? My RX1 always ran those temps. Coming into town it would run 205 but hot light was 210 and I never saw the light but could see how hot it would get idling, towns, etc.

Sure you got a problem?

Lifted her and added more coolant and water. Worked great no more air lock all better. Thanks guys. As far as what is a safe temperature I was told watch over 210 not sure how true it is

Long story. Working on tunnel mods hid light install and new meth tank install til this Wednesday then drop it off Saturday near grand rapids for a guy too hook up and dial in the rb3 tuning bike and prologger. Pat doesn't and won't deal with the prologger or rb3. So he got it set up close on 50/50 and the gem. Learning the hard way.......

Without input from some good guys and vendors on here, she wouldn't be as close as she is
:rocks:
