hello my 2004 RX warrior is over heating when i go out some times. it happens two or three times a ride. it is -39 C out and i am in and out of deep snow all the time. i know i can get a rear heat exchanger for it but i was wondering if there is some little things i can do to help this? THANKS and P.S. I did look it up but didn't find much :drink: :rocks:

I have not found a need for it in my snowmobile but in my motorcycle, I use Water-Wetter mixed in with my antifreeze/water mixture and it brought my operating temps down about 10-20 degrees F.

At those temps and that much snow i would say something is wrong! no way it should be overheating in those conditions, try your anitfreeze mix yamaha calls for 60/40! i believe these machines come with pure antifreeze

Next time it happen, just check the front under radiator and you will see what is the problem. ICE is the problem, just remove it and you will be fine!

I experienced the samething with my warroir and with my Apex. The rear radiator with stop that overheating condition but you will still carry all that ice.

i installed the rear heat exchanger on mine and the problem went away. also i discoverd that you have to be doing over 30 kph without the rear cooler to keep enough snow on the rear tube.

Probably have an ice damn right behind the front heat exchanger which blocks any fresh snow to get thrown on it. Need to break the ice loose or melt it off in a heated garage.

If you want to ride and not have a overheat problem that could cause pre-mature piston ring
failure, get a rear heat exchager from Port Yamaha.
