HAS ANY ONE EVER PAINTED THE SPRINGS ON THEIR SHOCKS? If so what is the best way to go?

I used Plasticoat in a rattle can. I got it at Lowes. It has a rubbery finish like the handle on tools. It has lasted 2 seasons with no chips. It is flexible. Worked great. It comes in several colors, black, blue, red, ? I used it on the springs and the arms on my M10.

Powder coat will crack with time. My experience is that although powdercoating is an excellent way to finish a non-moving part (I have my truck rims powdercoated, for example), it doesn't last more than a season or two without scales flaking off in a coil-spring application.
IF elastomer agents can be added to keep the coating from becomg brittle once baked, it may work for you. I'd inquire with a powdercoater near you, if possible.
