does anyone know the part #s for the slides on the XTX's?

Yamaha does not show the parts for the 09's yet and they only show 121" slides for the FX Nytro's

i could order MTX slides but if i dont have cut it would make it easier to do them in my cold garage in the UP.

HYfax P/N

Gibby I bought P/N SMA-8HL92-00-BK
I installed them last week (in the U.P.)

Colored slides are the worst. The white or black are suppose to be better. I'm not sure about the high performance slides but I know the colored ones are not too good.
Slides seem to wear really fast then the last 1/8" lasts for quite a while compared to the first 3/8's. New slides can deteoriate fast on frozen trails and hard pack. Fully clipped windows help as rubber on plastic creates more friction/heat. I've seen my new red slides wear almost out with only 25 miles in poor conditions. Then the last little bit last another 500 miles in hard pack.
Tracks should be checked and adjusted if needed after the first ride or two as tracks streach a lot at first and hyfax wears out quicker. After that I check my track after every other ride. Just to make sure everything is OK. I like to grease the suspension every 500 miles or less as the water gets in there and freezes. Thats every couple weeks when the conditions are best.

Hyfax

Gibby...
I wrestled the old hyfax out, (thru the track window)and got the new one 90% on when it came off the rail (yes, I went slow & cautiously) it came off at the rear. (kick-up point)
So I pulled the skid out. Next time...I'll just pull the skid to start with.

MINE LOOK LIKE NEW YET WITH 638 MILES. BUT I WILL ALWAYS REPLACE WITH THE HP SLIDES. I HAVE A SET NOW, BUT I HAVEN'T TEMPERED THEM WITH THE HEAT GUN YET.

THE SAME AS YOU WOULD ON THE SLED, HEAT THEM UP AND THEN LET THEM COOL. HEAT, THEN COOL. AND THEN WHEN I INSTALL NEW SLIDES I HEAT THEM TO PUT THEM ON. THEY MAKE THE BEND EASIER WHEN HEATED. AFTER HEATING THEY WILL GO FROM A GLOSS APPEARENCE, TO A MATTE OR DULL FINISH

Be careful hasting them to put them on. I heat them and give them a bit of a bend and I vaseline inside so they will slid on easier. If you have them too warm when your pushing them on when they start to hit the becd they could slip off. It happened to me before. I don't take off the skid. I go through the window. For taking off old hyfax I heat them up with a torch and peel them off from the side. Its far easier. You get one guy with a torch warming the slide up and you peel from the other side. Then I use hot water like bending a plastic hockey blade. I only put 50% of the skids bend up front as it has to be pounded on straight before it hits that curve at the front. You really need to make sure you don't go past the screw hole up front. Its easier to pound on a little further than to push them back a bit to get the screw hole lined up perfictly. Home I'm making sense here...
