Last year I had an accident on my 1400mi 10 RTX SE, long story short hit a tree stump hard enough to leak all the coolant out of the heat exchanger. I don't have a service manual but I have been able to find a list of part numbers from google searching:

8gl-12440-00-00 heat exchanger
90267-47195-00 20 rivets
90267-48010-00 5 rivets
8gl-2192a-00-00 pan protector
8gl-21997-00-00 2 patches
90267-48018-00 12 rivets
90269-08006-00 7 rivets
90269-05003-00 4 rivets
90267-48024-00 10 rivets

I just got about every rivet just in case since I have not done this before. Any suggestions on where I can order the parts for the best price and any suggestions from others who have placed the heat exchanger is appreciated. The motor has to come out, or so it seems.

Thanks!

Tom

We'll save you a bundle on rivets! In stock and ready to ship.

Without looking up the part numbers. I'm guessing now would be the time to buy a Mountaintech Skid Plate as well. Not only would it save you from buying some OEM parts but most likely would have protected it in the first place.

Good idea on the plate! I need to figure out what I don't need to get for OEM stuff. I know I need the rivets and heat exchanger for sure so I guess if I add the skid plate to that list I can safely get that stuff ordered now.

Don't bother purchasing the OEM plastic "engine protector" or the 5 plastic push pins that hold it on. Choose one of these instead.

Yep! OFT sold me in the long one. Just waiting for him to get the rivet pn's and I'm ready to order!

guessing these skid plates help increase floatation as well as protect the goods....

they look good too.... thinking of getting one myself

I can't attest to it helping flotation as it was on when i bought it and have no intention of riding without it however i agree it seems like it will help.

On the other hand i can say that it seems like the long one can potentially help to stiffen up the subframe some and help prevent those bent frames. I'm not sure how significant it can do this but either way it looks completely factory on the sled and should of been on there of the production line.
