Performance of '05...Do they really get faster after...

I had a 2001 pontiac grand prix with a 3.1 engine and it was SOooo doggy when we 1st got it and after it got like 4-5 thousand miles that car woke up...big difference in acceleration I could hardly stand what a dog it was. So I guess things have to smooth off and loosen and thats what my sled has done also much zippier now and more on top end. :flag:

I haven't noticed anything with nearly 4000 miles on it. But I should change the original belt.
Thats alot of miles on an original belt you must not be racing back to back on the lake and heating it up...I just ate one at 1,800 miles and I thought that was good especially as hard as I ride! :flag:

No I haven't been on too many lakes, and the ones I have had been on weren't worth racing on. I get on the railroad bed and go, but no racing.

Went religious on the break-in, right by the book to 500 miles. Never once broke the RPM limits and kept her cool with lots of snow on the boards. Now at 800 miles, seems to be getting faster. People don't believe its stock.

Ride it like you normally do. Don't baby it. It will loosen up at 1500 to 2000. It will get better the more miles you get on it. :4STroke:

At around 50 miles I was beat by a Polaris 700. Now I've got close to 500 miles and I beat him pretty good. If the Warrior gets even faster at 1000 to 1500 miles, I'm going to need to find better quarry. Here kitty kitty ...

i believe in the motor loosening up. my top end at 750 miles was 84mph on the speedo. at 1700 miles i hit 95 on the speedo

I am glad I put Matts stage 2 clutch kit on and the filter kits on. With 0 miles on it pulled 10300 rpm and I held it wot from the start. No oil usage on either of the RX1ers. Last Sat. at 51 above it still showed 126 on dream meter and does better when colder. They do RUN.

I own a Vector and when you get more miles accumualted they all run faster. I have had to reset my idle four times in one thousand miles. Idle it down. That tells me it has less internal friction. Also keep in mind that the track loosens, bearings loosen and every thing has a little bit less friction as more miles are accumulated. As a result quicker and faster = more mph. Just my 2c worth. I like the way the competition thinks these sleds are slow, but when you kick thier butt, they do not have much to say. Yamaha keep building these great sleds. :4STroke: :rocks: ;)!
