I was driving about 70km on a groomed trail and sled suddenly shut down and will not restart. Is blowing ignition breaker. Anyone have this issue or have a resolution?

The cluster is not lighting up and fuel pump is not kicking on. Sled has a brand new battery (put in yesterday and drove for a day with it) don't know if that's applicable but stumped.

what year sled do you have? i think there was a recall or tsb maybe on the earlier models for a ground wire? was melting or getting too hot if. might be close to radiator or something.

that wire is fixed then if you have an 09.
check all fuses down by the battery.
which one does it keep blowing?

Ignition fuse. We checked them all but in - 25 at 6pm trail side we are out of options. Currently waiting for our ride to come pick us up.

i hear you on that.
check it over for any pinched or bare wires near the battery and fuse block. something is shorting out.
stay warm.

Thanks that was our plan. Hubby just doesn't trust the sled anymore so I guess I'm trading it in now. We put 900 miles on before she died at least lol

New battery. Positive wire not pinched anywhere causing a short? If it's blowing a fuse there's gotta be a short. Honestly probably right around the battery.

Do you know why original battery was replaced? I ask as ️maybe there was an issue creeping up causing original to fail prematurely. These batteries last a very very long time. Not often do they fail.

Lastly, with him not trusting it anymore has there been more issues with it in the past. That may help diagnose.

Good luck, stay warm. -26 you must either be in mb or sk?!?!?

No idea on original that was done by old owner and we checked around new battery nothing pinched. Got home and task for tomorrow is to pull panels and investigate. No sled had been bomb proof till now.

Good luck guys!! Keep us updated on what it turned out to be.
If you have tether, double check that.
If you've modified hand warmers that's another to look close at. Other than that, gotta be a wire shorting.

09 does not necessarily mean the ground block update is done. Start with simple stuff. Correct size main fuse. Battery polarity correct. Check how many ground wires are connected to your battery, if you have 3, it should be ok, but if only 1 or 2. Inspect yellow electrical ground block behind and near top of the rad for signs of overheat. It has I believe 14 pins. If the block checks out start looking for wire rubs. Good luck.

We found the pinched wire. It had rubbed on the frame and worn thru. All fixed and put rubber tube on the frame to keep it from happening again. Thanks for the comments everyone.

Glad to hear you got it fixed!!!
Hope hubby doesn't trade her in, these phazers don't have mechanical failures very often and are very reliable imho

Glad to hear it's all fixed up. I know it can be frustrating some times. At least you had little down time.
