Hey everyone,

As the title says, Phazer newbie. Bought an 09 with 4000 km on it and was it pretty rough shape. Have completely redone all bushings, front-rear shock and new pilot skis on it.

Going to get the steering slop kit. Anything else anyone can recommend to make it more maneuverable and less darty? (we are going to play with my suspension tonight and soften it to see if that helps). We mostly drive trails and harder pack, not too much deep stuff where we are.

This is my first season on it, so any advice re: handling would be great. I know she is going to take a fair bit of body english and being on top of the situation!

I am also interested on this. Just picked up original parts from Yamaha and it was no help for sloppy steering.
Has anyone tried bearings? I have understood that this bronze bushing recommended on this forum may get sticky when cold??

Your going to have some slop in your steering no matter what. I went to my local yamaha dealer the other day to check some new sleds out and there was a 2014 phazer there that had the same slop in the steering as my 2008.

Check the A-arm bushings. The plastic ones are junk. Replace them with Oilites. Also check your lower ball joints as they are a common wear part. If those completely fail, your spindles will be ruined. Wouldn't be a bad idea to check your exhaust donuts under your tank. Use copper donuts instead of the junk OEM parts.

Already did the exhaust bushings, and put stock bushings on the a-arms. Going to do Oilites next, we couldn't find them for the phazer initially.

Running snow trackers to help with the darting, but they are a touch aggressive, going to see how they do with more snow and invest in the Tuner skiies. And got a hold of Up Bushman ;-)

Thanks everyone!
