I would like to start a thread devoted to the set up procedure for the Phazer suspension system. If anyone has any input on the various components, please post it up. Topics should include adjustment explanations for rear springs, rear shocks, limiter strap, front coils, rebound and compression for all, air shocks, mods and tips. Hopefully this can become a sticky so folks don't need to ask the same questions over and over or waste time on the search feature. Thanks.

I cant help much since its been a ongoing thing since I owned the sled and almost nothing is stock anymore including shocks, springs and oil/valving.Just some general observations:

Single biggest help in handling I did was moving all the spindle spacers to the outside.Second was putting the Pilot skiis on(but they do push in powder)
Third was the balljoint mod and fourth but might be moved way up list was all the suspension adjustments including limiter strap in 2nd hole,Backing off shock springs just till they hold spring tight and of course clicker adjustments with rebound being big difference.

I weigh 225# I run two holes tighter on the front limiter strap, and full soft on the front skid shock. This eliminated the bad push on corner entry, and also seems to have slowed the hifax wear in front of the idlers at the bend in the rails.

your suspension must have some set in if you trail ride - limiter strap should be two holes in - you should have enough center spring pressure to engage the rear shock on any bump - move some of the working force from the center to the stiff rear shock - i'm working on a better trail setup at this point and will post that once i get it worked out - i'm also going to experiment with an RX-1 center spring.

Silly question... what does 2 holes in mean.

There is 5 sets of holes in the limiter strap (not counting the set of holes on the ends of the strap). Assuming that position 1 is the longest possible limiter strap and position 5 is the shortest, is "2 holes in" in position 2 or 3?

Thanks
Mike

Position three, the middle one.

I am sending my shocks to get re-valved tomorrow, The skid is out so it would be real easy to set up the limiter strap. When it is mentioned to go 2 holes in is it 2 holes tighter than stock location or 2 holes from the bottom?

This is a place in Ontario there is probable a place in the US that is closer to home for you.
