Fair enough. My point was more that you can you can actually get a higher top speed and acceleration while using the 18 tooth.
I actually did each mods one year apart so I know what the effects were. The clutch kit was first and had a large effect on performance. The exhaust had a minimal effect other than weight lose. The gear change from 20t to 18t was last and did not effect the top end only the acceleration.
I do not believe that a Phazer can has enough hp to take advantage of the therotical top speed the 20t could provide . It does lower the revs at trail speed and there by raise the fuel economy.
